His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has stated that “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will bring together creative and talented people from all over the world to create something unique”. King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity "Mawhiba" Strategy emphasizes the importance of enhancing the international presence of the Foundation and cooperating with leading international entities in the field of discovering, nurturing and empowering talented and creative youth, in an effort to enhance Saudi Arabia's position as a global incubator of talented and creative young energies in priority areas of development, which bring added value to the future of humanity.
Emphasizing the depth of the strategic partnership between "Mawhiba" and the Ministry of Education, which led to the achievement of more than 580 medals and certificates of recognition on behalf of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the most prestigious international Olympiads for students in general education in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, and science. The Foundation has gained qualitative experience in preparing scientific teams representing the Kingdom in more than 19 International and regional competitions in scientific fields. Mawhiba expanded from participation to hosting important international events through the Kingdom's hosting of the 2024 International Chemistry Olympiad, which will be hosted by King Saud University. This aims to highlight the holistic experience in discovering and sponsoring the talented and creative youth locally and internationally, highlighting the scale and value of such large competitions for students, teachers, and chemistry workers in various fields within the Kingdom. Hosting elite international chemistry talented and experts from 89 countries around the world highlights the Kingdom's scientific standing and leadership in research and chemical industries and will stimulate the exchange of international experiences with university professionals and national research centers. This qualitative event will enable all relevant entities to build connections with future scientists and experts in this field. The hosting of this Olympiad will also promote the deep cultural heritage associated with series of human civilizations.
To maximize the benefit of hosting the International Chemistry Olympiad, and to complement the role of Mawhiba in empowering talented youth to be future leaders in many diverse fields, 120 members of the Mawhiba Association will participate in organizing the event, with the aim of giving them an opportunity to meet with talented youth from around the world and gain an important experience in conducting such large international scientific events. As we ask God for success in hosting and organizing this important event with our partners, the Ministry of Education, King Saud University, and SABIC, we also look forward to the active participation of major Saudi companies in the field of chemistry.
